Why Renovation School of Theology?

Everybody is a theologian. Theology is the study and knowledge of God. But what or who is God?

We all have thoughts about God, life and the Bible? How and why are we here? How do we live? Why do we live the way we do? What choices do we make? Why do we make them? Does the Bible matter in any of these choices? How do we know what God thinks or wants us to do? Does God care? Is there a way to know about God and life and how we should live?

In the USA we pursue life, liberty and happiness. How successful are we? We are the most medicated and addicted nation in the world. We are addicted to legal and illegal drugs, alcohol, porn, money, wealth, sex, etc. Yet we aren't satisfied with life. Per capita we have more abortions, cosmetic surgery, prisons, bankruptcy, divorces, suicides, drug and alcohol addictions, prescriptions, and therapy sessions than any other nation.

Are we doing something wrong? Is there something we are missing? Do we know God? Do we believe or live the Bible? Is any religion the answer? Is one religion the answer? Are all equally the answers? Does Jesus, Muhammad, Buddha, Joseph Smith, Confuscious, etc. matter? Who cares?

Is part of the problem that we are all so focused individually that we miss something? There is no "I" in "team." There is no "I" in the "USA." There is no "I" in "us." When life is not about I but about the community of us, things change and improve. There is no "I" in "Jes-US." Do we get that community matters more than the individual?

God is a community within Himself; even though, there is only one God. God created life to be lived in community. How are we doing? Are we in community or are we just stuck in our own little hobbit lives? Do we hide in our protected homes, behind our privacy fences and tinted windows so we can avoid human connection and interaction?

Let's pursue life together. Let's dig into the Bible and attempt to answer some of the questions above. Bring your knowledge, wisdom and energy to Renovation Community this fall. Ask every question you can think of. Brainstorm. What do you wonder about? let's wrestle together to see if there are answers to any of these great questions.

Love Ya'.
